The GETA Summer Doubles League is just around the corner…DON'T MISS OUT!

The 15th year of the Greater Elmira Tennis Association Summer Doubles League will be starting up soon, with the first scheduled matches planned for late May. Matches will be played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting at 6:00pm. The matches will be played at the tennis courts in Pirozzolo Park (West Elmira). Depending on the number of teams entered, the Elmira Free Academy courts, and possibly the Horseheads High School courts may be used as well.

The number of divisions and matches will be dependent on how many teams enter the league. As we have done in past years, we will have an "A" and "B" division. If there is enough interest, we will have "C" and "D" divisions as well. This is in response to multiple requests for divisions that are less about power and speed and more about finesse and fun.

Each team will consist of a maximum of four players (including a captain). The team entry fee again will be $20.00 and each team member must also be a member of GETA. Additionally any player 17 years old and younger will need to have a medical emergency form completed and turned into the league BEFORE he/she plays in his/her first match.

Teams finishing in the top four positions in each division will play in a season ending tournament to determine the league division champions.

It's not too early to start getting your team together (maximum of four players per team). The entry deadline is Friday, May 6th. Watch your mail for the league information and entry forms.
